Ask The Actuary – Issue 1: DB Pensions: Only 5 Years Left?

According to Barnett Waddingham’s DB End Gauge, there are only 5.4 years left (on average) before UK defined benefit (DB) pension schemes will be able to buyout their liabilities.

It’s no surprise, therefore, that, as an actuarial recruiter, a question I’m often asked is: “how long will the DB pensions industry last”?
