Job Description

Are you interested in taking a lead role identifying opportunities for data management innovation with a global financial services firm?

London based, this Data Architect role will work across a key business area, defining and delivering data strategy on key areas including confidentiality and security of highly sensitive data, in a technical environment striving to be best in class.

Reporting to the Chief Architect you’ll own and define the data architecture across three businesses. Working closely with the stakeholders, chief architect and senior technology management team, the data architect will be expected to:
  • Work with business leaders to identify immediate and long terms priorities and opportunities
  • Work closely with the Chief Data Officer and group architecture to ensure data strategy aligns with the global vision and policies
  • Work with Information Security teams to ensure appropriate data controls are in place
  • Document the As-Is and future state
  • Define a data roadmap that support the strategy enabling the delivery of the business needs
  • Define, maintain and deliver a data strategy architecture
  • Work with central group technology/architecture to own and flesh out the enterprise data model to ensure it represents and aligns with the business model
  • Contribute to the design of data models and architecture for use by Analytics and Business Intelligence
  • Be seen as the ‘Go To Person’ for all things data
  • Ensure data governance, security, lineage and management have frameworks in place ensure compliance with key legislation and standards

The Requirements                           
  • Advanced experience working in an architectural role in a large organisation
  • Extensive problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrate experience and success in delivering a step change in direction/thinking in an organisation
  • Data Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Service-oriented Architectures, Event-Driven Architectures
  • Relational; NoSQL storage technologies
  • A good understanding of architectural concepts, methodologies and mapping approaches
  • Data modelling understanding and experience
  • Appreciation of development and project life-cycles
