Job Description

Fantastic opportunity for the Paraplanning Supervisor in Surrey with a leading banking group, providing wealth management services!

You will manage, train and develop a team of Technical Advisers and Adviser Assistants team providing report writing, research and data collection facilities to the advisers, ensuring that all compliance standards are met and facilitating the production of management information and the accurate processing of business.

The role will focus on:
  • Ensuring consistency and maintenance of professional standards of output from the team
  • Sampling 10% of reports written with a minimum of 2 reports per technical adviser
  • Where training needs are identified, ensuring that suitable remedial action and training is undertaken and monitored
  • Ensuring that Compliance directives are fully understood and incorporated
  • Ensuring that systems are fully and accurately updated
  • Monitoring Key Performance Indicators on productivity and efficiency and providing MI and feedback to Line Manager
  • To continually strive to improve the overall efficiency and productivity within the Department.
  • Discuss all out with suitability guidance/vulnerable client sign off requests with the Practice Manager and agree on the basis of any recommendations.
  • Monitor file reviews and ensure a prompt response where technical advisers issues identified or remedial action required
  • Be a first line of defence, alerting Compliance to any issues which may require investigation or where processes are not being followed
  • Provide technical input and feedback as required
  • To agree KPI targets with Group Technical Manager and ensure that these are monitored, met and feedback given regularly to the team.
  • To ensure that when major projects are implemented KPIs are reviewed.
  • To implement the company’s Annual Performance Reviews and Objective setting process, ensuring departmental objectives are communicated and personal objectives are agreed, discussed  and monitored via regular 121s
  • To be responsible for the monitoring and training of new employees and to ensure their sign off as competent within agreed timescales
  • To continue to develop own management skills through attending appropriate Core Skills training courses
Person Specifications:
  • Candidate would ideally be in a senior paraplanner or paraplanning supervisor/manager role
  • Candidate would have made good progress towards becoming Chartered
  • Candidate would be happy to get involved in project work as well as managing team members
  • Candidate would ideally need to have 5+ years’ experience in Financial Service
  • Unlikely to be much report writing duties with this role
