We have a fantastic opportunity for a Technical Support Manager to lead and develop the teams. The teams provide technical support to the field based Financial Advisers and Central Mortgage Team Mortgage Advisers.


About the role:


  • You will lead the teams Advice & Operations that make up the Adviser Technical Support function
  • Develop the technical support offering to ensure it is providing the optimum service to Advisers
  • You will have the technical expertise to support and develop your teams
  • Work closely with Policy & Governance teams to ensure the technical support provided meets the advice policy and input into the policy as required.
  • Build and maintain an excellent working relationship with colleagues in 2nd Line Risk to ensure technical advice provided meets all relevant regulation
  • Identify and drive the implementation of improvements to processes and services provided to internal and external customers
  • Identify and raise any conduct and/or operational risks with senior management
  • Provide regular reporting to senior leaders on the performance of the teams within the Technical Support function
  • Prepare papers and present to Senior Manager Committee where updates and/or approval is required
  • Work collaboratively with wider Distribution and Society teams and represent where technical input is required


What we’re looking for:


  • You will have strong technical capability across all areas of financial planning together with the diploma level 4 qualification and ideally making progress towards your chartered status
  • Good knowledge of the UK financial services marketplace and experience of working within a financially regulated environment is essential
  • Experience of managing / leading within an advice/distribution environment, with significant influence
  • Exceptional analytical, planning, decision-making and management skills; and exemplary communication and presentation abilities
  • Excellent knowledge of Life & Pension and Protection, distributors, manufacturers and the wider marketplace
  • Ability to establish long-term solid partnerships and relationships demonstrating teamwork and collaboration across the Society
